Bring corporate money to Crete Share
Since the economy has made it difficult for fund raising, Crete Elementary School is looking for ways to bring corporate money into its schools. The Crete PTA has three programs in progress. The first is Boxtops4education.com which has approximately 125 stores that will donate a percentage of one's purchase back to Crete Elementary. The process is simple. Go to boxtops4education.com. On the top left, click on Join Box Tops and sign in to support Crete Elementary PTO. Once signed in, just click on the store being shopped and the store will send a check to the Crete school. The second program is Target Take Charge for Education program, which will donate 1% of one's Red Card purchases to the school. Go to Target.com and click on RedCard, or visit any Target store and ask directly to use the program. Even though it doesn't sound like much, last year Crete Elementary PTO received over $400, and this year it has received $236 already. Crete McDonald's also has agreed to sponsor Crete Elementary PTO in a McCare Night. On December 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., Crete McDonald's will donate 20% of the proceeds to Crete Elementary PTO. Local residents are urged to support the school by having dinner at McDonald's that night, telling their friends and neighbors about the program and inviting them, too. The amount of money that can be raised is unlimited! Crete McDonald's is at 1350 E. Steger Road.
