Curriculum Mapping at GPHS Share
Grant Park High School is in the midst of an ongoing project Ð curriculum mapping. The staff is charting what is taught in each subject and seeing how it fits into the overall curiculum and the state learning standards. The teachers started this last spring and have had times set aside this fall to continue work on the process. The project is part of an effort to make sure that what students are taught in the classroom is consistent with what is being tested on the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE). Besides finding gaps in the curriculum, it is also to see if there are redundancies or things that are taught in depth in every class while something else may not be covered in depth at all. The process is done in teams by the teachers who teach the courses. The goal is to have a fully mapped curriculum by the end of this school year.
