2008 Grant Park Oktoberfest

The eighth annual Grant Park Oktoberfest will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 3, 4 and 5 at the Grant Park community park. The annual Night Lighted Parade will be on Saturday, October 4. This year's theme is "ROCK & ROLL."
There is still time to enter a float in the parade, whether as a family or a business float. This can be a fun time for your business or family and can help to pull the community closer together. The two classes of floats to be judged will be Commercial Class and Family Class.
Each class will have first, second and third prize winners earning $75, $50 and $25, respectively. Applications are available at the village hall.
The Grand Marshal of the parade this year will be Leo Heusing, long-time village employee, now retired and lifetime area resident.
It is hoped to make this the biggest and best parade to date, and that will be possible only with the help and cooperation of the Grant Park community. Without the community involvement, the parade cannot go on. Anyone having any questions, ideas or suggestions may call the village hall at (815) 465-6531.
