Anointed Hands of Man is an auto repair facility located at 3204 Keeney Avenue in Steger. This business has been open for about a year after going through a contentious start to acquire a business license.
Since the business borders a residential area, local residents were concerned about the parking of cars in need of repair along neighborhood streets. The license was approved after the owner assured residents and village officials that there would not be a problem.
At the October 6 village board meeting, the board voted to serve a "notice to appear" before the board on Anointed Hands of Man. This is part of the 'due process' effort to give the business the opportunity to show why their license should not be repealed under the public nuisance provision.
Salon Serenity Beauty Salon at 118 East 34 Street was given approval to open after a zoning variance change.
The village board approved the recommendation of Village Engineer Joe Schudt to accept the bid of Morton Salt for the coming winter season. The price of salt has more than doubled over last year.
