Peotone library programs

Peotone Library will be closed on Monday, May 26 for the Memorial Day holiday.

Registration for the Summer Reading Program for Kids, "PAWS to Read," begins the first week of June.

The Summer Reading Program for Adults, "PAUSE to Read," begins June 2.

YOUTH SERVICES:

Movie Night at the Library will be held on Monday, May 5 (4:30 - 6 p.m.). Watch a movie with friends. Bring ya pillow and stuffed animals. The library will bring the movie and snacks.

Preschool Storytime will be held on Tuesday mornings, May 6, 13, 20 and 27, (10:30 - 11:30 a.m.) Storytime friends must the 3-5 years old, potty trained and have not entered kindergarten. Come for some stories and crafts.

Pajama Storytime will be held on Monday, May 12, at 6 p.m. All ages welcome (four years old and under should bring a parent/guardian). Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite bedtime blanket or toy. No sign-up needed.

Crafting Club will be held on Wednesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Create some amazing art to take home! Call or stop in to register.

Drop-in Craft Day will be held all day on Thursday, May 22. Come to the library and have some fun with extra crafts from programs past.

Magic Trick Day will be held all day on Wednesday, May 28, at Peotone Library and at St. Paul's UCC in Monee from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

High School Book Discussion - Book-a-lot: Readers of the Round Table will be held on Thursday, May 8, at 6 p.m.

ADULT SERVICES

Book Bingo - Monday, May 5 (11 a.m.) Sign up to attend - What is Book Bingo?

Play bingo, win books and prizes. No one ever leaves empty-handed from this fun-filled game of BOOK BINGO!

Will County Supervisor of Assessments - 2014 Exemption Sign-up will be held on Tuesday, May 6 (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.).

Tuesdays with Books Discussion Group will be held on Tuesday, May 6 (6:30 p.m.)

Clue: A Mystery Book Club - Wednesday, May 7 (11 a.m )

Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer's: Early Detection Matters on Wednesday, May 7 (6 - 7:30 p.m.).

Computer Basics One-on-One will be held on May 14, 21 and 28 (11-11:30 a.m.) A library staff member will devote a 30-minute time slot beginning at 11 a.m. to help with one's computer needs. It can be help with the basics of the computer, setting up an email account and sending attachments, creating resumes, learning how to use the Internet or a Word Document - you decide. Call to reserve a time slot.

Chicks at the Flicks - Friday, May 9 (6:30pm) Call for movie title and to sign up.

Open Studio - Tuesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 22 (11 a.m. - 7 p.m.) Do you like to knit, crochet, sew or other types of needle work? Would you enjoy meeting some new people who share your interests and exchange ideas? Come to the library's Open Studio in the meeting room. There is no set time, so come and go as you wish. Bring a lunch and spend the day!

iPad Basics for Seniors - Thursday, May 15 (10 a.m.).

Meet the Author: Matthew Luzi - "The Boys in Chicago Heights: The Forgotten Crew of the Chicago Outfit" on Thursday, May 15 (6:30 p.m.).

Brown bag it with a movie - Monday, May 19 (11:30 a.m.) Seniors, retired folks, bring your lunch and enjoy a movie. We will supply the dessert!

Coffee and tea will be available on Wednesday mornings in our Library Cafe - enjoy a cup!
