Bloom Beats Warriors

In a Southland battle of first place in the girls soccer, Bloom Township blanked Crete-Monee 2-0 on April 24.

Blazing Trojans Andi Hernandez and Jasmin Villanueva each scored, and both were assisted by Jasmin Aldape.

Midfielder Erika Garcia and forward Aly Perez also played tough for Bloom.

Maria Narcisi was in goal first half and had 2 saves, while Melissa Guerrero was in goal second half and also had 2 saves,

Helping the goalies were the Bloom defenders. Melissa Reyes, Denise Hernandez, Dani Lopez and Samantha Realford did their part to keep Crete Monee out of scoring range.

For the Warriors, Lydia Cogan had saves in net.

Bloom is now 4-0 in the Southland and 7-1 overall, while the Warriors are 2-1 in SAC and overall 4-7.

On April 22, both teams won SAC battle.

The Blazing Trojans defeated Rich South 7-0 as Narcisi (2 saves) and Denise Hernandez (3 saves) combined for the shutout.

Aldape had three goals and an assist, while Villanueva scored three times. Denise Hernandez provided a goal and an assist. Hernandez had three assists, while Garcia added another assist.

Meanwhile, Crete-Monee had a 5-0 win over Rich East. Adriana Vera provided the scoring for the Warriors with five goals.
