Crete Library events and programs

Animal Tracks will be held on July 8, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., for 4-5 years. Discover animal prints.

Beginning Knitting will be on July 8, from 1 to 2 p.m., for 8 year olds. Learn how to knit and pearl and make something to take home.

Milikin Puppet Show presents "The Fabled Mr. Aosop" on July 9, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Marionette puppet show! Family Event. Registration required. Limit 70.

Teen Art Studio will be held on July 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. The popular weekly art program for teens returns! Join other teens and create unique masterpieces inspired by unknown and well-known artists, artistic movements, and all types of media. No experience or supplies needed. Sign-up required.

Wii Game Playing will be on July 9, from 2 to 3 p.m., for six year olds. Drop in to play various Wii games.

Rescued Is My Favorite Pet will be on July 10, from 7 to 8 p.m. Hands-on program about rescue animals.

Read To Maya The Dog on July 11, from 10 to 11 a.m., for five year olds. Drop in for a ticket to reserve 10 minutes of reading-out-loud to therapy dog, Maya. There will be six tickets available per reading day.

Video Game Tournament will be held on July 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. Compete for a best buy gift card or just play for fun. The event is open to 13 year olds and older, but the chosen games sometimes have an "M" rating.

Laser Tag will be held on July 11, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., for 9 - 12 years. Compete in a game of Laser Tag right among the library stacks! Sign up required.

Teen Creative Writing Club will be held on July 7, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Calling all storytellers, poets, and anyone else with an interest in creative writing. Join us every week over the summer for 90 minutes of unleashing creativity inspired by fun and exciting prompts. Enjoy hanging out and snacking while doing so! No experience or supplies needed.

Just For Fun Book Club will be held on July 7, from 1 to 2 p.m., for six to eight years old. Share your favorite books and have a snack.

GameMaker Studio will be held on July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. The studio is a free computer program that teaches and allows one to build their own video games from scratch. Teens will use library laptops, or bring their own, while working individually, or in groups to create increasingly detailed and interesting games while learning the ins and outs of computer programming. No background or experience required! Registration is required

TAG (Teen Advisory Group) will be held from July 9, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monthly meeting of teen volunteers. Help plan events for teens and tweens at the library. Registration and required.

Steam Gaming Party will be held on July 10, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Discover Steam, a free computer program for downloading and playing great games. Bring your own laptop and we'll help you get set-up, or come play on the library's laptops. This is event is 13 and up; be aware some games may carry the 'M' rating. Registration is required.
