Air Force Airman Kyle D. Ray graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Timothy Ray of Monee and Dawn Ray of Steger. He is a 2006 graduate of Crete-Monee High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in 2010 from Illinois State University, Normal.

Army Pvt. Walter A. Petzel has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

He is the son of Susan Petzel of Alsip and Arthur Petzel Jr. of New Lenox. He is a 2011 graduate of Alan B. Shepard High School, Palos Heights.
