SWCD dinner
The Will/South Cook Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its annual recognition dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, at the Peotone Atrium in the Will County Fairgrounds. The event includes a barbecue pork chop dinner, prize drawings and a cash bar. The evening will conclude with a recognition program. The 2012 Conservation Stewardship award will be presented to Will County Farm Bureau Manager Mark Schneidewind. Two $1,000 scholarships also will be awarded. ONU music events
Olivet Nazarene University has added two outstanding musical events to its February calendar at the Betty and Kenneth Hawkins Centennial Chapel on campus. Nielson & Young, duo pianists, will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 17. Now in the 40th year of their two-piano collaboration, which began at Olivet in 1971, Stephen Nielson and Ovid Young continue to concertize as one of the most distinguished musical ensembles of our time.
The US Air National Guard Band of the Midwest and Olivet's Wind Symphony, conducted by Ryan Schultz, join forces for a concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 18. This blazing evening of band music will feature an exhilarating display of wind and percussion artistry.
