Tyler Hopkins of Peotone, a senior at Loyola University in Chicago, has been named to the dean's list in the College of Arts and Science for the first semester.

He is the son of Carla and Michael Hopkins of Peotone, grandson of Leona and Marvin Berner of Peotone, and great-grandson of Carmen Recupito of Steger.

Mariah Phillips of Monee has been named to the dean's list at Greenville College, where she is majoring in English Language Arts Education. She is the daughter of Ron and Krista Phillips of Monee.

Two area residents are among the 71 nursing students who have met the requirements for a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Lakeview College of Nursing.

Sarah Penkas of Monee graduated through the College's Danville Campus.

Katelyn Sieja of New Lenox graduated through the College's Charleston Campus.

Several area residents made the dean's list for the fall quarter at DePaul University in Chicago.

Eric Kilbride of New Lenox has been named to the dean's list for the fall term at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt., where he is majoring in Game Design.

Ashley Paarlberg of Manhattan, a senior mathematics major, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Harding University in Searcy, Ark.

Tiffany Fulford of Crete has been named to the dean's list for the fall term at The University of Toledo in Ohio, where she is majoring in Adolescent and Young Adult Education.

Jessica Buck, a junior public relations major from New Lenox, is one of 12 Marquette University students who traveled to Belize over winter break as a part of the International Marquette Action Program (IMAP). Along with Campus Ministry staff members Ann Mulgrew and Steve Blaha, the students spent 10 days in Punta Gorda, Belize, where they helped build a second story onto a local school. The group also met with Jesuit volunteers and people from the local parish to learn more about the Belizean culture and economic programs.
