Farm Bureau Foundation scholarships

The Will County Farm Bureau Foundation Board is pleased to announce that they are offering 33 $1,000.00 scholarships for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Nineteen of the $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school graduating seniors of Will County Farm Bureau members who will be entering college in the Fall of 2012 as a freshman and whose membership is in good standing the last two years (2010-2012) and currently paid up to date. These scholarships are for any college or accredited school of higher learning or technology.

The high school scholarship winners (to be determined in April 2012) will not have the funds disbursed until December 1, 2012, and the scholarship funds will be applied towards their second and/or Spring semester of their college freshman year in 2013 only after verification of enrollment for the fall semester has been determined by the Foundation Board. All applications submitted must be typewritten or computer typed on the original application form.

Fourteen of the scholarships will be awarded to current college students of Will County Farm Bureau members who will be college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students or students pursuing a six to eight year degree such as doctors, lawyers, etc. in the fall of 2012 and are Will County Farm Bureau members in good standing the past two years (2010-2012). The funds for these particular scholarships will be awarded for the Fall semester of school and disbursed after September 1.

If an applicant received a scholarship from the Will County Farm Bureau Foundation during the last year of 2011, they will not be eligible for a scholarship in 2012. Scholarship rules and procedures are available with the application form on-line at www.willcfb.com. If applicants are not able to download the scholarship from the website, please call the Will County Farm Bureau office at 815-727-4811 and one can be mailed.

The deadline for the submission of all scholarship applications is March 2. Any applications that are mailed must be postmarked no later than March 2, or dropped off at the office of the Will County Farm Bureau at 100 Manhattan Road, Joliet on or before March 2. It is mandatory that all applications are submitted with high school and/or college transcripts as well as be typewritten or computer printed.
