Input Sought on Search for New Superintendent

Manhattan School District #114 Board of Education has posted an online survey to gather public input as it begins a search for a new superintendent.

Superintendent Howard Butters, who has been an administrator in the district for 28 years, serving the past eight years as superintendent, will retire June 30, 2013.

The survey will be available online at the district's website, www.manhattan114.org, until midnight March 7, 2012. Results will be shared and discussed at the school board's March 14 meeting. The survey responses will have a direct impact on the most critical phases of the search process.

The Board of Education members welcome the participation of the entire community to assist them in making this important future decision. All district residents and staff are encouraged to provide their thoughts on what qualities they believe the new superintendent should have.
