Manhattan Art Contest Winners
Manhattan Art Contest Winners
Despite extreme budget cuts across the state's education programs, the emphasis on art doesn't seem to be lacking in Manhattan--at least not for these students. Seven girls competed against thousands of others, bringing home silver and gold right here to Manhattan.
Art teacher Kris Ambrosini told the school board on February 8 that it is an incredible accomplishment for the local school district to have so many winners this year.
Wilson Creek first graders Jenna Marshall and Olivia Hindel were silver winners in the STR Christmas Card art contest.
From Anna McDonald, other silver winners were Eileen Quinn, fifth grade; Maggie Kuypers, third grade; Molly McCauley, fourth grade; and Emily Stigler, fifth grade. Fourth grader Tera Sparks brought home the gold with her poster.
In another contest, two Anna McDonald students won silver: Jade Espinoza, sixth grade; and Isabella Hernandez, seventh grade.
