Final results of Beecher Lions 5K Run/Walk Share
Last week, the Lions announced the top three winners of the 5K Run/Walk held on July 4. This week the Lions announced the other winners in the ''age categories'' for the event. These winners are important for coming out to participate in the event. Following the three top runners in the race, there was a master runner, Jim Piaskowy, 55, from Crete, who came in fourth in the race. The results for male runners are as follows: -Age category 10 and under - Hunter Boyer, 10, of Lowell, IN, finished in first place in this category. -Ages 11-14 - Nathan Swanson, 11, Beecher, first place.

-Ages 15-19 - Bryan Minich, 17, Park Forest, came in first place and finished just behind Piaskowy. -Ages 20-24 - Jelani Hannah, 21, Chicago, first place. -Stephen Stolzenbach, 28, of Park Forest, came in sixth place overall and first place in the 25-29-age category. -Ages 30-34 - first place was taken by Kevin Greene, 34, of Peotone. -Ages 35-39 - Jeff Sredecor, 39, Kankakee, first place. -Eric Crosby, 40, of Tinley Park, took first place in the age category of 40-44. -Ages 45-49 - John Bevis, 45, Bourbonnais, first place. Of the five runners in the 50-54 age category, James Rattin, 52, of Martinton, took first place and came in eighth overall. There were four runners in the 55-59 age category, and Mark Campbell, 55, of Beecher came in first place. Of the five runners in the 60+ age category, Ken Klipp, 60, of Kankakee, came in first place and also placed 10th overall. Age group results for female runners are as follows. The master runner in the female runner was Jan Horner, 43, of Beecher. While placing 44th overall, she came in ahead of many male runners. -Ages 11-14 - Katrina Zubi, 14, Beecher, first place winner. -Ages 15-19 - Katie Darabaris, 15, Beecher, took the first place trophy. -Kimberly Wagoner, 29, Bourbonnais, took the first place trophy in ages 25-29. -Ages 30-34 - Jill Tooper, 32, Kankakee, first place. -Ages 35-39 - Jennifer Prinz, 35, Beecher, took the first place trophy. -Kathy McCallister, 41, of Caseyville took the first place trophy in the age category 40-44. -Ages 45-49 - Vivian Woodsworth, 48, Midlothian, first place. -Ages 50-54 - Cathy Jansma, 51, Beecher, took home the first place trophy. -Martha Hernandez, 55, of Chicago, took the first place trophy in the age category 55-59. -Ages 60+ - Pat Borowski, 62, of Lowell, IN, earned the first place trophy. There were 10 entries for the Freedom 5K Walk. One of the walkers did not finish. Of the nine who completed the walk, Jennifer Hoekstra, 26, of Grant Park came in first. The Beecher Lions congratulate all the runners and walkers who participated in this event. Many came from other towns to compete. Russell Publications prints several community newspapers each week, serving Will, Kankakee and Cook counties.
