Flu clinic a success Share
Approximately 40 people received flu shots during the Flu Clinic for Medicare part B that was hosted by Washington Township, Village Woods Retirement and Assisted Living facility and Will County District 1 Representative John Anderson. The flu shot clinic was held on Sept. 29 and 30 at Village Woods in Crete; the Flu Clinic, on Sept. 30 was for residents in assisted living. Village Woods Regional Manager Tom Travato organized the Nurses Plus Home Healthcare of Park Forest to administer the vaccines. Fees were determined by whether the individual has Medicare with an HMO, Managed Care or was under the age of 65. If this was the case, the fee was $25 for a flu vaccine and $35 for a pneumonia vaccine. Medicare will only pay for one pneumonia shot after the age of 65. Will County representatives offered information on senior services. Among them were: -Michael Steward, deputy Will County Treasurer -Barry Bonazzi, Jim Jones and Jill Knutsen, Will County Sheriffs Triad

Such cell phones are available free upon request to seniors. But they may be used only to access 911 in case of an emergency. Because the phones are for 911 services only, operating them is very simple. Schultz received hands-on instruction on how to use the cell phone.
