Social News October 16, 2008 MELISSA AND BOBBY SHAMPINE of Puryear, Tenn., formerly from Peotone, are the parents of Dylan Scott Shampine, born March, 2008 in Murray, Ky. Dylan weighted 7.5 ozs. and measured 20 1/2-inches. Maternal grandparents are Jeff and Eileen Baker of Peotone and Sandy Haldane of Moline. Paternal grandparents are Linda and Jim Vorreyer and Robert Shampine all from Puryear. Laura Sadecki of Peotone has been appointed as secretary of the Murray State University Horseman's Club and as second year captain of the MSU Equestrian Stock Team. She competes in intercollegiate horse shows as one of the top riders in open and reining classes. She is a senior at MSU Southern Illinois University Carbondale recognized several area residents as undergraduate degree candidates during summer commencement ceremonies held August 2.
