Dorothy Meeks

Dorothy Lee "Dot" Lackey Meeks, 83, of Grant Park and Momence, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in Grandview, Texas.

She was born October 29, 1928, in Fayetteville, Tenn. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Meeks is survived by a son, Wendell Meeks of Grant Park; a daughter, Janet Lee Vogeler of Alvarado, Texas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Billy Ray (Marietta) Lackey of Fayetteville and Craig (Sharon) Hale of Bourbonnais.

She married Thomas A. Meeks on May 15, 1948, in Fayetteville, and he died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, William A. Coats; a daughter, Martha Vanderwarf; her parents, Robert and Ida Lavonia Pollock Lackey; and a brother, Robert Lackey.

Visitation 9 a.m. until the hour of services at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, at Hub Funeral Chapel in Grant Park, with the Rev. Martha Scott officiating. Burial in Union Corners Cemetery in rural Grant Park.
