THE 2011 RELAY For Life of Peotone-Beecher-Monee was a mega-success, thanks to the many volunteers who helped plan and organize the event. An annual fundraiser, the Relay benefits the American Cancer Society and celebrates the victory of survivors, like these, who participated last year. Planning for the 2012 Relay begins this week, with a Planning Committee meeting on Thursday, February 16, at 6 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone. The committee welcomes new volunteers!

LIBERTY JUNIOR HIGH School's 8th grade boys basketball team advanced to the state tournament last week after defeating Bradley Central 37-21. The win gave the New Lenox team the sectional title and a berth in the state tournament, where they were slated to take on Taylorville on Saturday at Olympia High School.
