The engagement of Heather Pavlik and Joshua Stauffenberg is announced by their parents, Ms. Denise Pavlik and Mr. Marc Pavlik of Manteno and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Stauffenberg of Manteno. Heather is a graduate of Manteno High School and studying nursing at Olivet Nazarene University. Joshua also graduated from Manteno High School and is attending Olivet Nazarene University as a business major. He is employed at Homestar Bank in Manteno as an insurance agent. A June 2013 wedding is being planned.

Bob and Betty Stoeber celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at St. Luke Lutheran Nursing Home in Spencer, Iowa. Bob, a World War II veteran who served with the Air Force, retired in 1988 as the operations manager at Well's Dairy in Le Mars, IA. Betty, a housewife, resides in the adjoining Riverview Terrace Assisted Living building on the St. Luke campus. The couple have seven children: Susan Umscheid, of Spencer, IA; Ken Stoeber, of Gillett Grove, IA; Connie Beernink, of Orange City, IA; Tom Stoeber, of Traverse City, Mich.; Nancy Baxter, of Monee; Carol Allison, of Muscatine, IA; and Jerry Stoeber, of Spencer, IA. LORRAINE NADLER of Peotone became a great-grandmother on Friday, January 20, 2012, with the arrival of a great-granddaughter, Caitlin Olivia McBride. New parents are Renee and Sean McBride of Lake Zurich. Caitlin arrived at 5:52 p.m. at Good Shepherd Advocate Medical Center in Barrington. She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.
