THE PEOTONE school board's January Student of the Month is Julia Perri, the the daughter of Tony and Caryn Perri of Peotone. She is a PHS senior who has earned a 4.939 grade point average and ranks fifth in her class of 152 students. Julia is active in National Honor Society, International Culture Club and Student Council. She also is a member of the girls' basketball, soccer and volleyball teams. Outside of school, Julia is an AWANA youth group leader and a Biddy Basketball coach. In her spare time, she like to reads, hang out with friends and play sports. She plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a degree in nursing. She received a certificate of recognition from Board President Tara Robinson during Monday night's board meeting.

FRED KNAP, ADVISOR for the Peotone High School SkillsUSA Team, was happy to accept a copy of the resolution recognizing his efforts to guide and prepare his students for the National SkillsUSA Conference in Kansas City in June. Seven members of the team attended the conference and placed seventh among the 38 teams participating. Peotone District 207-U Board President Tara Robinson presented the certificate during the September meeting, held at Wilton Center Elementary School.
